Hes too freaked out to go to a doctor, and he thinks its normal, but at the same time, he cant stand the pain. Can someone please let me know if this is common among men? Im going to try to get him to go to the doctor, but if I cant, I want to know if this is normal or if I should worry about it. Do lots of men suffer from this pain and if so, are there any tricks I should know about to prevent him from having this pain? Thanks for the help.FollowAre you sure you want to delete this answer?YesSorry, something has gone wrong.Trending NowBest Answer: Doctor time, this is very uncommon for testicular pain after sexual intercourse. It could be a variety of things.Source(s):Submit just nowHow long has this been going on? If it is resent it might be on thing and if not recent possible another. Both of which I know of all to well. If recent, He could possibly have testicular torsion, which means the veins leading to his testicles are twisted and hes not getting enough blood to his testicle. If he doesnt go immediately, he could lose it. This would be an E.R. trip! The other is a condition called Varicoceles. Which veins contain oneway valves that work to allow blood to flow from the testicles and scrotum back to the heart. When these valves fail, the blood pools and enlarges the veins around the testicle in the scrotum to cause a varicose and ouch!!! It hurts!!!. Approximately 10 percent of all men have varicoceles. Among infertile couples, the incidence of varicoceles increases to 30 percent. The highest occurrence is in men aged 1535. As many as 7080,000 men in America may undergo surgical correction of a varicocele annually. I was one of em. I would sometimes just get the pain randomly thoughout the day. Most of the worst pain would come to me after I had an orgasm. It sounds like this might be your fiancs problem. I think the worst part is that I went to 2 urologists and they had not a clue of what I was going though and kept treating me for a prostate infection with strong antibiotics. It wasnt until the 3rd doctor, I found an answer. It might have helped that the third doctor specialized in fertility as well as general urology. Learn from my mistake! Find a doc that knows a thing about fertility. I hope this helps you! I will check back if you have any other questions for me.Thomas S 10 years ago0
mke333over a year agoIve been sexually active for quite sometime, and have been with a good amount of men. Ive been with men that have very small and very large peniss. But last night i slept with this guy that was a little bit bigger then average, nothing thative never seen before. But right after we were finished my lower abdomin started to hurt. It hurt to laugh, cought, move in certain postions. We didnt have any crazy sex, we stuck to the basic, just plain missionary. We did use protection, but latex isnt problem with me. Ive been tested and i have no stds or hiv, so i know its not that.. I did just get out of a relationship, where we did have unprotected sex, but we were both faithful. Him and i had a very sexual habit, it was sex all the time any time, but i never had this pain with him. But my pain in my lower abdomin occured last night and tonight im still dealing with the pain. I had to stay home all day on the couch and or in my bed beacuse it hurt to move that muscle region. SO im just curious what the problem could be. If he just bruised my insides, and i really have no clue. Cause with all the times ive ever had sex ive never expeirenced anything like this.If you have any suggestions that would be awesome. ThanksLoading...DanDanover a year agoMy girlfriend sometimes gets similar pain after sex . It is usually after a doggy style or another position in which her ovaries are being hit. It hurts after sex and maybe even the following day. She can move, it just feels uncomfortable. If this happens again, I would see a doctor if I were you. There are conditions that cause pain during sex like ovarian cysts, endometriosis, uterine fibroids, so having it checked wouldnt be such a bad idea.

Intercourse pain, or dyspareunia, can cause problems in a couples sexual relationship . In addition to the physically painful sex , there is also the possibility of negative emotional effects. So the problem should be addressed as soon as it arises. What Causes Painful Sex in Women? In many cases, a woman can experience painful sex if there is not sufficient vaginal lubrication. When this occurs, the pain can be resolved if the female becomes more relaxed, if the amount of foreplay is increased, or if the couple uses a sexual lubricant. In some cases, a woman can experience painful sex if one of the following conditions is present:Vaginismus . This is a common condition. It involves an involuntary spasm in the vaginal muscles, sometimes caused by fear of being hurt.Vaginal infections . These conditions are common and include yeast infections .Problems with the cervix (opening to the uterus). In this case, the penis can reach the cervix at maximum penetration. So problems with the cervix (such as infections) can cause pain during deep penetration.Problems with the uterus. These problems may include fibroids that can cause deep intercourse pain.Endometriosis . This is a condition in which the tissue that lines the uterus grows outside the uterus.Problems with the ovaries. Problems might include cysts on the ovaries.Pelvic inflammatory disease (PID). With PID, the tissues deep inside become badly inflamed and the pressure of intercourse causes deep pain.Ectopic pregnancy . This is a pregnancy in which a fertilized egg develops outside the uterus.Menopause . With menopause , the vaginal lining can lose its normal moisture and become dry.Intercourse too soon after surgery or childbirth .Sexually transmitted diseases . These may include genital warts , herpes sores, or other STDs .Injury to the vulva or vagina . These injuries may include a tear from childbirth or from a cut (episiotomy) made in the area of skin between the vagina and anus during labor.Vulvodynia.This refers to chronic pain that affects a womans external sexual organs collectively called the vulva including the labia, clitoris, and vaginal opening. It may occur in just one spot, or affect different areas from one time to the next. Doctors dont know what causes it, and there is no known cure. But selfcare combined with medical treatments can help bring relief.ContinuedHow Can Painful Sex In Women Be Treated? Some treatments for painful sex in women do not require medical treatment. For example, painful sex after pregnancy can be addressed by waiting at least six weeks after childbirth before having intercourse. Make sure to practice gentleness and patience. In cases in which there is vaginal dryness or a lack of lubrication, try waterbased lubricants. Some treatments for female sexual pain do require a doctors care. If vaginal dryness is due to menopause, ask a health care professional about estrogen creams or other prescription medications. Other causes of painful intercourse may also require prescription drugs .For cases of sexual pain in which there is no underlying medical cause, sexual therapy might be helpful. Some individuals may need to resolve issues such as guilt, inner conflicts regarding sex , or feelings regarding past abuse.Call a doctor if there are symptoms such as bleeding, genital lesions, irregular periods , vaginal discharge , or involuntary vaginal muscle contractions . Ask for a referral to a certified sex counselor if there are other concerns that need to be addressed.WebMD Medical Reference Reviewed by Traci C. Johnson, MD on September 08, 2016Sources
left side hurts during sexMust Readkarina21February 18th, 2011what does it mean? i think its my ovaries but i dont know. me and my boyfriend have been having unprotected sex since march of 2009. AM I STERILE?! im only 16 but im scared.Did you find this post helpful?Answer to left side pain during intercourse.karina21You are fine!!! Im 52 and I have always hurt on the left side almost ever time my husband of 30 years and I have intercourse. You are not sterile! I have a 19 year old son. Also I see my obgyn every year, and 3 times I saw him in between that year to year check up. To be checked for the left side pain, during intercourse. Last week Feb.16th 2011, I was still convinced that my ovaries, had a tumor, or cist, or something even more serious. My Dr. is great !!!!! He sent me for another, sonogram both external, and internal. Again, the Dr. and the specialist, found NOTHING wrong anywhere. The ovaries, uteris, everything was FINE. You and I are just in that pain group. Have your partner kinda turn his penis toward the other side, when its inside you, and it will be better. Believe it or not, the penis can move almost on its on. I know you are only 16, ya know?, but you are already having sex so I dont mind giving you helpful info. Enjoy life to the fullest, because I can tell you It will pass you by fast. You really should always use birth control. I love kids and wanted them for years, to the point I was depressed and cried, every day for years. I had our son, who is 19 now, only after 2 misscarrages, and a son born 2 12 months premature, he only lived 1 hour 45 minutes, and after I had been married 11 years. So, what I mean is, I was 33 years old and married 11 years when I finally had the baby I had been crying for. And if you get pregnant now even if you think your ready, you WILL give up your whole childhood, and later on you will become depressed. Dont let you or a baby suffer an early pregnacy, or take these precious early years (you) DO need, too soon. When your older you will know when your done having childhood fun, and you will then be ready for babies, and you will enjoy them and yourself for the rest of your life with NO, NONE, ANY regrets. SO, Im sorry to sound like a mom, but I am one, so have a very fullfilled and happy life. Be carefull!!!!!! This is from a caring person. You marked this post as helpful! It could be a yeast infection , the classic annoyance that famously (but not always!) comes with that cottage cheeselike discharge.Yeast infections are tricky because so many women selfdiagnose and pick up overthecounter meds, even though what theyre dealing with might not be a yeast infection at all. Dardik says the only way to really know if its something more serious is to get tested, because it could be something as benign as external irritation from scented soaps, or a bacterial infection.Advertisement Continue Reading Below7 of 17This could be a sign of vaginismus . Thats when the muscles around the pelvic floor and around the vagina contract involuntarily when theyre supposed to relax, says Dardik. It could happen any time you try to put something inside of you not just sex. A telltale sign? Even inserting a tampon is extremely painful. Streicher describes it as though everything clamps down and notes that its often a protective mechanism often seen in women who might have experienced abuse or trauma. If youre experiencing this, Dardik suggests you definitely see a gynecologist, since the issue is complex and can vary from woman to woman.Advertisement Continue Reading Below8 of 17It could be endometriosis, but could is the operative word. Dardik says hallmark traits of endometriosis include pain during intercourse, extremely painful periods that dont let up with conservative means of treatment, and chronic pain. But the only way to really diagnose it is during surgery.Consistent pain could also be pelvic inflammatory disease, she notes, which is anything that causes inflammation to the vagina. Typically, that ends up being an STD.Advertisement Continue Reading Below9 of 17You might be dealing with an ovarian cyst , but Dardik says its hard to differentiate between that and something else during painful sexual activity. Many women with cysts tend to not have any symptoms when they have a really, truly sharp pain from the cyst, they often end up going to the ER. Youd probably have to get an ultrasound to officially diagnose the problem. The good news? Timothy P. Canavan, M.D., and obgyn professor at the University of Pittsburgh Medical School, says that most cysts tend to go away on their own. In the meantime, you should take some ibuprofen for the pain and get on top during sex . (You wont feel it as much!)Advertisement Continue Reading Below10 of 17It might be a UTI and the reason a UTI would hurt during sex is because the entrance to the bladder, which can get inflamed from bacteria, is so close to the vagina, says Dardik. Having your partners penis bump into that already inflamed area certainly wont feel good, and if a woman has an active bladder infection, shes likely not interested in having sex. Dardik advises these women to go to the doctor and get antibiotics. The good news: you can prevent these annoying infections. Good hygiene practices, getting up and voiding after intercourse all help, says Dardik. So dont lie there postcoitus stuck in a romantic haze pee after sex!Advertisement Continue Reading Below11 of 17Designed by Megan TatemSome women have a retroverted uterus, or a uterus that tilts backwards, says Streicher. That can make for painful sex, as can pelvic floor disorders. The trick would be to find a position that isnt painful, and talk to your obgyn about any potential disorders if youre experiencing pain after he ( or a toy ) enters you.Advertisement Continue Reading Below12 of 17Designed by Megan TatemConsider this: if you have issues with your digestive tract maybe Crohns or IBS, that could be wreaking havoc on your sex life, too. Very often, women I see who have painful intercourse, the precipitating issue was something that has nothing to do with gynecology, says Streicher. Make sure you bring up your entire health history with your doc so heshe can help figure out the real problem, ASAP.Advertisement Continue Reading Below13 of 17It could be something psychological. A lot of the causes of painful sex have a psychosocial component that women dont want to necessarily address, says Dardik. We usually recommend they see a therapist who specializes in psychosexual dysfunction .Advertisement Continue Reading Below14 of 17Eddie PhanSTIs from genital warts to herpes dont always have symptoms and can easily remain undetected. But painful sex may indicate youre suffering from one, according to the Cleveland Clinic . Whether something burns, stings, or just simply hurts, Dardik says that patients with STIs generally also have abdominal pain, abnormal fever, and discharge.Advertisement Continue Reading Below15 of 17Eddie PhanAn ectopic pregnancy occurs when a fertilized egg develops outside the uterusand if you put pressure on it during sex, it can be super painful. If youre experiencing pain during sex, or dealing with light bleeding and abdominal or pelvic pain, you should talk to your doctor ASAP.Advertisement Continue Reading BelowAdvertisement Continue Reading Below16 of 17Every woman needs to be treated differently depending on whats bothering her , says Dardik, so she recommends visiting a doctor, especially if something is happening on a recurring basis. But you also need to talk to your partner . Have a frank and honest discussion and say, these are my symptoms, these are new, and have you had any kind of experience with this?. Then you can work together to get those symptoms evaluated and treated. I think for some of the pain issues, partner support makes a huge difference, she notes.
Left Abdominal Pain After SexMust Readsylviapoe82August 10th, 2008My fiance and I have been together for three years and are both faithful. During the course of our sexual relationship, I have experienced pain (that I thought was an ovarian cyst or UTI, but was not) three times in the lower left abdomin. Doctors are puzzled. My guess is that the pain could be possibly related to my having IBS. The pain occurs only during straining (i.e. urination, bowel movements) and I have very little discomfort otherwise. I read that the intestines can become swollen and, as a result, become irritated during intercourse. Could this be a possibility? I seem to recall having had a sharp pain during intercourse. Could this have resulted in the, now three days, worth of discomfort I am experiencing?Did you find this post helpful? You marked this post as helpful! That being said, sometimes sexual intercourse can lead to complications and discomfort. Some may experiencestomach pain after sex, while others may feel vaginal pain and soreness. These symptoms would lead many people to ask why, read on to find out more. Why Does My Stomach Hurt After Sex?There are numerous causes for stomach pain after sex, some of which are detailed below:1. Emotional Reaction to SexWhen someone says that they have stomach pain, they may sometimes be referring to their abdomen as opposed to their actual stomach. If the pain is originating from the stomach, then it could be due to a bad emotional reaction to intercourse. If you feel feelings of anxiety, stress, sadness, or irritation before sex, that may be translated into physical symptoms, such as stomach pain.2. OrgasmWhy does my stomach hurt after sex? dont worry, in some cases, that could be your orgasm. For women, stomach pain may be a result of over contraction of the vaginal and uterine area caused by penis penetration and orgasms. This contracting can lead to the individual experiencing stomach pain.3. Rough SexIt is highly possible that rough sex can lead to stomach pain after sex, due to the high amount and intensity put upon the lower abdominal area. Some women even state symptoms of constipation of diarrhoea for up to two days after intercourse.4. EndometriosisDuring a womans menstrual period, the uterus lining thickens and is released when bleeding occurs, endometriosis is where the same tissue that makes up the uterus lining begins to grow in other places, such as the ovaries. If that tissue thickens and begins to bleed, it can cause pain in the stomach, as it has no easy rout in which to escape from the body.5. Pelvic Inflammatory Disease (PID)PID can be caused by sexually transmitted diseases, such as chlamydia. This condition is where the uterus and the fallopian tubes become inflamed, causing pain and possibly damage. Although not many symptoms are associated with this condition, the pain may be a sign to visit your doctor, who will likely treat it with a course of antibiotics.6. FibroidsFibroids are a highly common condition that often causes no problems. That being said, fibroids can lead to pain during sex, heavier menstrual bleeding, and bleeding in between menstrual periods. Fibroids can be treated in numerous ways, and a visit to your doctor is advised to best determine the course of treatment best for you.7. InfectionsIf by chance the stomach pain that you experience is in fact pertaining to your abdomen, then it is highly possible that it is the result of an infection, such as a gynaecological or urinary tract infection. What About Cramping After Sex, Is It Normal? To put it simply, yes, cramping after sexual intercourse is a normal occurrence. This can be a result of penile penetration or discomfort in the urinary tract andor bladder. To try and avoid this happening, try emptying your bladder (urinating) both before and after sex. If the cramping still persists, it is best to consult a health care professional to best determine the cause.Safe Sex Tips You Must FollowThere are many tips to abide by when practicing safe sex that, when practiced, can help to avoid the sensation of any pain.
